I was watching TV, and I happened to stumble on an infomercial for those Amish fireplace box things. They look really nice, and they supposedly reduce your heating bill by a ton. But I have a couple grievances about them and their infomercial.
First, the Amish don't wear jeans, but the "real" Amish spokesman that they talked to was wearing them. Second, the Amish don't use electricity, so why would they build something that requires electricity (and a remote!) to work? And lastly, yes they may reduce your heating bill, but what about your electricity bill? You have to plug it in, and if it is able to heat an entire level of your house, it's gotta be eating a ton of power.
